Yves Saint Laurent Paris Exhibition

"An exhaustive YSL retrospective is opening at the Petit Palais museum March 11."

Yves Saint Laurent's partner, Pierre Bergé organized the exhibition which includes YSL's signature masculine suits, blazers and pants. The exhibition also includes photographs of Catherine Deneuve's YSL outfits and the designer's art inspirations. The exhibition also includes more than 300 pieces of couture and pret-a-porter!


The exhibition runs through August 29. Tickets are €11.

Hot Trend - LEOPARD PRINT

As Lanvin's Alber Elbaz once said, "take all these animal prints out of the jungle and into the city.", who has embraced the prints in his Pre-fall collection.

Instead of using a pop color accessory or a statement necklace, opt for a leopard print statement piece by adding a Leopard cardi to an everyday outfit, leopard scarf to a plain winter outfit, or even team a leopard print clutch with a LBD for a glam night around town.

Trend Report: Futuristic Warrior

Think ancient Rome, where a Gladiator fights other warriors wearing golds and thick metals. Picture his suede tasseled sandals made of soft felted fabrics. Now imagine yourself on a warm day in golds, tans, yellows and bronze undertones cut and shaped in for a summers v-necks and high waist shorts. If not these colors then focus on the textures. Studs and leathers paired with sheers and even snake skin.

Now fast forward to a new millennium where futuristic turtle necks and geometric dresses are 'en vogue'. Don't think about the lilac and baby blue undertones that make a star trek costume. Instead, focus on the different shapes of the outfits. Sharp shoulders, symmetrical patterns and statement accessories are some of the things you will notice.

This travel through time and space epitomizes a major trend in seen on the s/s '10 runway: The Futuristic Warrior look. Look for inspiration from the Balmain shows. Pair up a sequenced gold dress with a thick black belt. For a dress down look, think about your old khaki shorts a black tee with bold necklaces and thick bracelets.

Versace Pre-fall Collection 2010

 I wouldn't say I'm Versace's biggest fan... But over the past two years, I really feel the brand has evolved. I don't know about you, but I was uber obsessed with the gold strapless sequined dress that was featured in about every editorial at that time. Looking at the Pre-fall collection, The collection looks a lot more young and edgy and there are a few pieces I'd like in my closet.. Loving that fur vest.

Last year I styled, photographed and edited a photo shoot for my foundation year at Fashion School. (Note: first thing I've ever styled/photographed) The task was to style up a plain white shirt into a trend that season. I decided to go by the Androgynous trend and styled up a white shirt with an untied bowtie, red lips and a pair of classic Louboutins. Modeled by the beautiful Luciana Miller.

Ok, not a fashion-related post. But I love cupcakes so much and yes, Hummingbird's red velvet ones have to be my favourite, but I had to post this and let you know about the most adorable glittery cupcakes!
